  • Beautiful nose of lime, lemon, slate, chalk notes, tangerine, apricot, white peach. Palate of juicy citrus, apricot, peach, nectarine, guava, passion fruit, lime, sherbert, super long, dense. Beautiful, so good in its youth only going to get better with time.

  • Abts E® study (Chicago, IL): #22-17, 8.5% abv. Yeah, this is the stuff. Scintillating, electric stuff. White hot acidity with tons of tension, counterbalanced by just the right amount of sweetness, and enough mineral extract on the palate that makes this feel dry (even though it's sweet and tastes sweet). A bit of green herbs also adds a nice touch to it, the way a bit of mint amps up a fruit salad. Complex, if you want to expend the effort, or just mindlessly delicious.

  • Keller Abtserde study: As good as the GGs were, this was my easy favorite in terms of pure visceral pleasure. This feels electric with tons of acidity beneath an array of ripe citrus and tropical fruits, fresh herbs, and tons of minerality. It feels just slightly off dry, and the overall balance here is absolutely perfect. So damn delicious I can't decide if I just want to drink a bunch more right now, or give these some time in the cellar.

  • Blek gul.

  • Beautiful Spatlese. This has electric aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit, other citrus, some tropicals, peach, lime, and flint and minerals. Also something creamy, nutty or even bready/yeasty. It's racy and delicious on the palate - full of flavor but light as a feather. Really gets the salivary glands going. Reminds me somewhat of the 15 Julian Haart wines. I really love this but not sure about the QPR (like $75 in the states). With some work, you can find similar quality wines for 1/2 the price. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 17/20.
