I often wonder how my scores would vary on wines depending on if I am drinking them with other wines (comparitively) versus drinking them solo on thier own. I drank this bottle alongside a '18 Kinsella Heirloom. Although I thought this Pott was a very good wine, in comparison to the competition it was not even close. Yet I have seen a lot of good scores being posted on this wine and so wanted to try. Would I have scored it higher if drinking on it's own???

Repeating notes recently posted with edits upping score. For sure I think the wine needs time. Best after several hours opened. Cherry nose dominated though some background notes of raspberry and compote are here as well. On the palette the wine reveals cedar wood, tobacco leaf, and cherry. At the mid pallete the wine added boysenberry and once agin more cherry fruit and I wood add cigar ash.

First, I am a fan of Aaron Pott and Pott wines and I really enjoyed this as well.
After decanting (90 minutes+) it opens with mild alcohol, deep cherry nose, moderate leather and earth. On the palate, I tasted cherry/raspberry, mild mocha notes and mild oak. The body is medium, less than many from Pott. Medium+ density color and good finish.
A terrific California cabernet with plenty of life and years to go.

Best after several hours opened. At first this was closed and rather acidic.

That said I would sit on this for another Few years.
