  • Excellent, classy developed wine, similar comments to a few months ago. 13.5% alc. A classic that aged remarkably well. Last bottle.
Colour: deep black berry, no sign of browning.
Bouquet: mint, voluptuous berry fruit and plums, some delicatessen character, tobacco, fine grained oak tannins, licorice and tar
Palate: as bouquet, berry and eucalypt, rich soft and generous fruit, iron fist in velvet glove, huge soft fine grained tannins in a silky texture, dusty, with long clean finish, coating mouth for minutes after. Aging remarkably well.

  • Excellent, classic style for this long lived 13.5% alc.
Colour: dark red berries, dark chocolate
Bouquet: mint, red berries, talcum powder, herbaceous, white pepper, soft leather and tobacco pouch
Palate: as bouquet, medium bodied, full flavoured, blackberry and cranberry, cedar, primary through to tertiary fruit character but amazingly fresh still, big soft fine grained powdery tannins, voluptuous and yet lean and clean simultaneously, good length

  • Nose of sawdust, leather, and berries. Nose is quite Bretty, but that doesn't come through on the palate, which shows blackberry and cranberry flavours. Medium-bodied, silky entry gives way to strong acid and moderate tannin. Seemed very young - I wouldn't have guessed that it was more than 5 years old.

  • Mid red, slightly brown with bricking. On the nose, quite savoury, with damp earth, but underpinned by ripe/rich berries still. Tobacco leaf, cigar box and dark red fruit. Tannins still there but not over the top. Nice. Now to 2 yrs.
