Unexpectedly not as smoky as other wines from the same vintner that I've tried in the past. But this is very good - plenty of fruit, great length and still time ahead of it.

(Mayer-Nakel Bad Neuenahrer Sonnenberg Erstes Gewachs) This has dense layers of spice and fruit and some apparent oak. Very young on the palate with some serious tannins but great length. Definetly needs time. Still fleshy and with great purity.
