  • Opened, poured and followed over the next 1+ hrs. Starts with tart red fruit, with acidity most noticeable. Medium body; softish mouthfeel. Over time in the glass the acidity mellows a little, but fruit also recedes a bit. Fairly monotone in taste. More together than the bottle noted on 9/24/2023 and reasonably tasty, but still not interesting. Day 3: no glass on Day 2, but had a glass on Day 3; bottle had been corked after Day 1 until now: Maybe some red fruit taste, but barely noticeable. Very soft mouthfeel; thin, almost watery. This Day 3 glass is similar to the bottle on 9/24/23, but even more in the wrong direction. Based on these two bottles, drink soonest.

  • Working through a bottle of this over the next few days. For the first night, I really am digging this, as it's got a killer mix of tart cranberry, jolly rancher cherry candy and a the zing of spice from the residual whole cluster, all lighting up the wine in what is a medium frame but nothing heavier. The balance is terrific, and I hope that the wine tomorrow (about 2 glasses left) shows as well as it does today. Fantastic....on Day 2, the wine firmed up in the finish adding some minerality. Along with this structure, some dark plum is now here and the whole cluster spiciness is up a notch. There is a lot in this wine and it's likely got years ahead of it.

  • Opened, poured and quick sip: Kind of tart red fruit, maybe some pine; acidity on the front end. Next sip about 35 min. later: acidity still on the front end; fruit now in the background; light weight, almost thin/watery; softish mouthfeel; tannins not an issue; seems out-of-balance. By the end of the glass, fruit seems barely there; acidity isn't that bad, but is about all that is noticeable. Light in weight isn't necessarily a fault, but "thin/watery" isn't good and the lack of fruit and balance make this pretty disappointing.

  • Pop and pour. Medium ruby color, mid-weight across the tongue. Tart cherry and cranberry fruit, a little raspberry or mulberry. A little baking/Asian spice and then a (relatively) strong oak push. Flavorful and restrained. Second day the tartness had mellowed, but so had the mouthfeel and it came across a little thin.

10/14/2023 Lots of tart fruit, per my earlier comment, but not in a bad way. Maybe I should say "fresh" fruit. Nice amount of acidity. Oak didn't seem as strong as my earlier note. For me, good example of what a more restrained, lower alcohol Pinot can be.

12/4/2023 Another bottle and, yeah, I’m going with fresh fruit. It comes across as bold, yet still not processed at all. Definitely a good example of the Kutch style that I so enjoy.
