PnP (two nights). violet-red with an orange rim. Sour cherries on nose right from opening the bottle. Some earth notes and more stewed cherries later and on second night. Medium fruit weight, very soft/nonexistent tannins and a light touch of acidity. Although there were no off notes and the fruit presence good, think I missed the window on this as the current lack of structure did not work well with food.

WineFest in Toronto (Mike Grammer); 7/10/2016-7/12/2016 (Mike Grammer's (parents home) in Toronto): Even these many years later, this still shows a lot of ripeness. Gone, however, are the cough syrup notes of the past. I heard more than a few people list this as their favorite. Cherries on the nose. Cherries and tart cherries on the palate. Good acidity. Yes, the fruit it ripe but nothing crazy here. In a good place and showing a nice young-ish maturity.

This is a sealed, air tight preserved taste of the same bottle opened for the 5/6/2015 taste. Consistent notes. Smoke, cola and a touch of sweetness at the back end. This is a decided departure from what would become the Kutch style. That is a good thing.

Cola, pepper and smoke. Feels like a lot of extraction. Sweet, almost bordering on cloying in the context of a dry red wine. My understanding is this is sourced fruit from the first vintage. I believe things have only improved since this initial offering.

This was very enjoyable . That said, it's showing a bit of age and a glass saved for the second day didn't quite hold up. Drink now or soon.
