  • First did a pop 'n' pour and it was so tight as to be downright unpleasant. Fortunately there was an hour before dinner and I decanted it. Cherry and raspberry fruit starting to poke through, but still heavy with seeds and stems. Sadly, I was headed out of town so couldn't give it an overnight rest. Seems like there's good potential, but next bottle I need to plan ahead.

11/15/2023 Gave it a little time to breathe and that helps. Brilliant red raspberry and cherry fruit. A little thin across the palate. Still has hints of the cluster and forest floor on the finish but not out-and-out tannic.

3/30/2024 Seems like an entirely different wine than my above notes. Didn’t decant, but still out of the gate with raspberry and black cherry fruit. Maybe a little thin across the palate, but that’s a CA yardstick, not a Burgundian one. Finishes with a pop of acidity that pulls things to a close very nicely. All in all, a very nice wine.

  • Finished the rest of the coravined bottle with my wife. Actually a bit worse than last time. My wife’s response was simply thin. I thought it tasted like pepper water. Maybe a bad bottle but for whatever reason not enjoyable.

  • Coravin glass - no decant. Seemed like this needed some time. On the light side - fruit very restrained - call it a light herbal red. Herbal nose. More just mild than full cluster. Bit disappointing. I'll give rest of bottle a full decant.

  • Delicious. Light and well balanced. Red fruit shines through.

  • My last bottle and maybe the best yet. In its drinking window. PnP.. Improved with time. Starts with raspberry, black cherry, pine needles, herb and spice aromas. Stems show up. ON the palate, more red and black fruit, herbal, spice and stems. . Good acidity. soft tannins in a smooth finish.
