  • A good bottle, but I found the tannic fuzziness to be a bit distracting. Needs perhaps a few more years.

    2027 for the other one?

  • Nearly perfect Pinot in a perfect (for us) drinking window. Enough brightness left, but developing “aged” character in the glass (slight brownness), on the nose, and on the palate. For us, this is a “drink now”.

  • Cranberries, blueberries, cola, smokey oak, pepper finishes with some cedar and balanced tannins. A+ (97). Really balanced wine which paired well with food. Like the tartness of the fruit.

  • Prior bottle was just over a year ago and this wine continues to show quite well. A mix of red and black cherry on the nose along with floral and earth notes. Medium bodied with rounded black cherry upfront, adding good depth through the middle and some high-toned red cherry notes for contrast. The mid-body continues to integrate with the structural qualities and fruit notes becoming more harmonious. Acidity and tannins are noticeably more in balance with the fruit than they were a year ago (probably the most obvious change). The wine still has good backbone, but it's more integrated with the fruit. Overall, very pleased with how well this wine has evolved, fully meeting my early expectations. Should be able to hold this level for several more years, but in a very good spot over the next 2+ in particular.

  • Prior bottle was just a over 10 months ago and the wine has improved along the lines I'd hoped. Black cherry, floral and earth notes on the nose with some hints of red cherry. Medium bodied with black cherry upfront with better depth and roundness through the middle than my prior bottle. Fruit felt a bit more expressive and the contrast with the tart red and black cherry notes on the back felt better integrated. The acidity and tannin provide structure, but felt slightly more in balance with the fruit. So while the fruit profile didn't change, the wine felt more open, pretty and more balanced than previously. Should continue to evolve along these lines and I'll open my next bottle in Q1 2022 (but no rush to drink).
