Simply lovely. There is absolutely no excess weight here. Restrained in its delivery of fruit. Dark cherry of course but also some redder fruits. Fine grained tannins in moderate degree. No hard edges here. Above average length. Some elegance, which I do not always find in Sangiovese, nevermind Chianti. High altitude Chianti is simply a different thing. Wish I had more of this. Will keep a few years yet, but this is so good now in its understated way. Perhaps even better than the 2013 tasted in December.
A bottle tasted a month later was similarly remarkable, though seemed more touched by the warmth of the vintage.

PnP and let sit for about 5 minutes before sampling. Color is quite purple fading to garnet at the edge. Soft aromas of red fruit, some herbal or garrigue notes, closing up a little bit after opening. On the palate red fruit, savory notes, some peppery notes, bright acid, lighter tannin, leaving a mouth-watering finish. Drinking with mushroom ravioli with sausage, broccoli and a little bit of red pepper. A little linear through the middle 20 minutes after opening.

The last note captures it pretty well....great finesse and concentration of flavour, in an excellent place right now.
