23 months after the prior: This has developed very nicely. We agree with a note below, but observe that it’s rather an understatement to say that this is “not overly sweet.” We got no sweetness at all. It’s beautifully mineral, driven, and savory, backed up by refreshing acidity. Very enjoyable over three nights.

Popped and poured to accompany garlic shrimp over pasta. Pale white gold color. Nose of schist, pear, grass, lime, grapefruit. Vivacious but not overly sweet on the palate with layers of grapefruit, lemon peel, white peach, grassy notes, and stone. Copious acidity and dry mineral spine. Long finish of white grippy fruit and mouth-watering stony elements. Nicely done.

18 months later: powerful; simultaneously intense and almost austere. Not exactly friendly, and far from voluptuous. Lovely still for its mineral complexity and crispness. Quite enjoyable three nights, fading on the last.

Paired with Dungeness crab. Pale white gold. Nose of apricot, peach, mown hay, lemon rind, white flowers, faint cat piss. Sweet peach, white pear, grapefruit, and stone on the supple palate. Fresh acidity and faint but noticeable backbone. Long finish of sweet white peach, citrus, and schist. Very good at this stage. Hopefully the sweetness will integrate over time.

SAQ N° 12950046 70$ Avec scampi islandais. Première avec Vacheron. Robe assez claire. Bouquet assez frais sur citronnelle, zestes agrumes. Bouche assez tendue, citronnée, mais une texture assez raffinée discrètement huileuse. Longueur moyenne. C'est bien, frais, plus tendu que Cotat. Cher. **1/2
