Buttery sweet, slight butterscotch candy wine with decent character. Pale gold in color and can be sipped on its own. Opened for a birthday dinner and it didn’t disappoint. However, once again this wine shines in its complement to dining. I am enjoying how it enhances each dish, bringing out the citrus and acidity of a salad, or the smokiness of a duck pastrami.

Buttery aroma with a hint of lime zest, but it stays round like a Chassagne. Good feel in the mouth and does not go mineral or chalky or sour. Elevated chicken tacos and chipotle with avocados to a new level. It really stands up to food and I will be experimenting with further combinations of wine and gastronomy in subsequent bottles.

Fine Vines Fall 2018 Portfolio Tasting (City Winery - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Baked apple and candied lemon rind aromas with fleshy, ripe apple and pear flavors. Good now, good young, good Villages level in general.
