Medium-bodied and crisp. Subtle stone fruit aromas. On the palate, acidity and minerality were front and center, with a touch of neutral oak to round things out. This wine is built for food!

Light yellow. Bright citrus and clay. Medium weight with some creaminess, excellent acidity, ripe orange peel, a bit of lactic milkiness and a deft kiss of oak. Very stylish, approachable now, and impeccably balanced-this is a beauty, especially for a lieu dit wine. Texturally, it reminded me of Chassagnes from Pierre Yves Colin-Morey, which is high praise.

Tasting (Mostly) 2012 at Jean Noel Gagnard (Chassagne-Montrachet): Tasting at domaine. This part of Chaumes is Villages level, adjacent to the 1er vineyards. Floral start with lots of apple and pear. Good mineral intensity, shows its geographic pedigree, i.e., proximity to the 1er Cru vineyards. Very good for Chassagne Villages. This was bottled in December, so had a little more time to recover (vs the 1ers which were bottled in January or February).
