  • Served at The Gainsborough Hotel in Bath. At first a simpler and less oily example than I would have liked but redeemed itself by pairing well with the beef carpaccio. Apples and pineapple with a marginally textured finish.

  • Äppeltonig. Tam, men balanserad. Inget stort vin men helt ok. Gifte sig bra med varmrökt lax.

  • The front label says "Organic" and the back label says "Reserve de la Cave". 12,5% alcohol.

Intense lime green color, almost like Mountain Dew gone flat. There are quite rich and fruity aromas of sweet red apples, ripe pears, some quince and an undercurrent of acacia honey. The wine is full-bodied and dry-ish to off-dry on the palate with flavors of ripe red apples, quince, some cantaloupe, a little bit of spicy character and a hint of stony minerality. The sweetness makes the wine's mouthfeel round and gentle, but the moderately high acidity keeps the balance in check and makes the wine come across as pretty fresh. The finish is a bit spicy with qutie long flavors of stony minerality, some spicy red apples, some sweet pear and a hint of honeydew melon.

A juicy, balanced and simple but tasty little Pinot Gris. Doesn't offer much to contemplate on, but works perfectly as a versatile multi-tool of a food wine. There was nothing in our christmas table this wine couldn't tackle. Classic Pinot Gris flavors paired with subtle residual sugar and balanced acidity - what more could you ask for? A nice and smart effort.
