Medium purple to ruby in the glass with pink edges. Thin, fast legs. First aromas and flavours of blackberry jam, figs. Medium cedar/oak with medium tannins and a slightly astringency. There often is a jammy sweetness (like a California Zinfandel) in La Stella reds which I’m not A huge fan of. 14.5% alcohol
Paired with leg of lamb done on BBQ, maybe slightly heavy for this wine?

Dark clear ruby with minuscule pink edges. Not opaque by any means, but glowing transparent.
A chorus of equally dark fruit rises out of the glass - I could smell this for hours. Plums, licorice, bramble, crushed stones, savory tobacco & cherry blossoms. Outstanding!
Decanted heavily, & to be honest - very little submission is expressed by it. This thing just powers on, undeterred by air; this is a very special wine of place.
This is stupidly beautiful Merlot. I am going to buy a case and drink one a year...maybe two.
