May have mistaken for a Burgundy if tasted blind. Good color, bit of a funky aroma. Was moderately fruity, but also started with astringency. Over time, that leveled off but the wine grew increasingly bland. Agree with others that this vineyard tends to lag.

This delicate but straightforward Pinot may need another few years to blossom, but I confess to thinking the Home Vineyard often brings up the rear in the Rhys lineup. Light red in color; medium in body; aromas of cranberry, raspberry, and dried herbs. Flavors of pomegranate, dried strawberry, and anise, with a soft and lingering finish. 13.8% alcohol. This is pleasant, but it lacks the precision and energy of the best that Rhys has to offer (e.g., Alpine, Horseshoe).

This ebbed and flowed over the course of 24 hours and it seemed like the sweet spot was in the 6-18 hour range. I kept having to remind myself that I wasn’t drinking a Burgundy the whole time, so for that I approve. It started off very wound up and stingy, but once it stretched into harmony there was a lot of nice stuff to contemplate in there. The only thing is towards the end of a day open I had the impression that it was losing composure and energy. I think another 2 years would be a good target for opening the next one. 4+11+17+9= 91

Brownish hue! Clearly off! Probably a bit oxidized.

Definitely brings up the rear in the Rhys lineup. I would much rather drink Alpine or Horseshoe.
