May have mistaken for a Burgundy if tasted blind. Good color, bit of a funky aroma. Was moderately fruity, but also started with astringency. Over time, that leveled off but the wine grew increasingly bland. Agree with others that this vineyard tends to lag.

This delicate but straightforward Pinot may need another few years to blossom, but I confess to thinking the Home Vineyard often brings up the rear in the Rhys lineup. Light red in color; medium in body; aromas of cranberry, raspberry, and dried herbs. Flavors of pomegranate, dried strawberry, and anise, with a soft and lingering finish. 13.8% alcohol. This is pleasant, but it lacks the precision and energy of the best that Rhys has to offer (e.g., Alpine, Horseshoe).

This ebbed and flowed over the course of 24 hours and it seemed like the sweet spot was in the 6-18 hour range. I kept having to remind myself that I wasn’t drinking a Burgundy the whole time, so for that I approve. It started off very wound up and stingy, but once it stretched into harmony there was a lot of nice stuff to contemplate in there. The only thing is towards the end of a day open I had the impression that it was losing composure and energy. I think another 2 years would be a good target for opening the next one. 4+11+17+9= 91

Didn’t take detailed notes but found medium to deep red fruits, a savory element, mild tannins and (surprisingly) mild acidity. We weren’t as dazzled as others here but have another bottle we’ll visit in a few years to see what time might do.

Quite deep, certainly savory, with some nice spiciness. A bare suggestion of Pineneedles and pleasant smoke. Somewhat restrained, as others have noted. Still, quite enjoyable over three nights.

After following for 6 hours open in a decanter and half a bottle later, I finally get a glimpse of its potential. I'd leave it alone for another couple years before retrying. The nose is pretty, but it feels like a blanket is laid over the palate, abetted by some confident tannins. Judgement reserved.

Needs time. And lots of it. Either that or this is much more bland than one would expect. Don't get me wrong, it is good (nice fresh abundant fruit and some whole cluster spice), but right now is overly constrained.

Staying with the same number, this one needs more time. Seems like a wonderful abundance of depth to it waiting to be unraveled. I didn't decant this one but it could've used that or just more time on its side. Somewhat lacking in fruit, there are hints of melon with some blackberries mixed in. Would be patient on whats left and see how things develop.

Wonderful dark ruby color with generous texture and length on the palette for a pinot. The nose has some depth to it, mostly blackberries and similar less sweet-forward fruits. I enjoyed it, right up my alley.

100% whole cluster and what caught my attention is that the wine has integrated the stems, meaning I didn't sense anything herbal. Pretty cool. Dark cherry, some strawberry but this is darker and brooding than the Family Farm, which is essentially adjacent to Home. Plenty of complexity here, depth, touch of incense, finishing with a black cherry, spice and tannin. Very good version of Home, for sure.

Brownish hue! Clearly off! Probably a bit oxidized.
