Second bottle showed little complexity against wines of a similar price. Sure v smooth and lots of fruit but I think you could the same impact for half the price.

This is a serious wine with a lot of structure and tannins. Upon opening, it was brooding with dark, dark notes, like black licorice dark. It took about 3 hours for the grippy tannins to soften and develop some floral notes. Picked up some lychee on the nose. On the palate, red cherry fruits eventually emerged. Given its makeup of practically every grape varietal, with the majority being Syrah, it is an interesting wine!

A full-on blockbuster treat! Lovely rounded blackberry nose. Rich mouthcoating palate with smooth tannins. Just the ticket for a Friday evening with Mrs H!

2 hour decant. nose: blackberry, cassis, smoke, cinnamon, rose petals. Palate: blackberry, licorice, dark chocolate, leather, forest floor. Minerality, Great complexity, full bodied, medium acidity, gripping tannins, balanced, good on its own and with food.

Shak below describes it nicely. Garnet with strong vanilla and cherry cream flavours. Iron and pepper add some complexity. Good length and full warming body
