2nd bottle - Sandalwood nose, lighter and thinner than the 1985 Giacosa Barbarresco Gallina that was alongside but a very pleasant wine, mature and soft, with nice dignity. As it sits in the glass it grows in intensity.

The nose showed, crushed fall leaves, parchment paper and soft strawberry fruit. The palate showed fresh, vibrant cranberry fruit with bitters and a hint of old wood yet so lush and velvety. The finish carried the sour red fruit into a soft red fade that kept me filling my glass.

Not dead, but definitely in a persistent vegetative state. Not much going on here other than generic old red wine that I probably would have pegged for a '70s Bordeaux. (top-shoulder fill)
