  • This was a risk buy on auction but being a 6L bottle, I figured risks were lower given its slow aging. Turned out to be quite good and likely not much past. its peak. Soft silky tannins with lots of red dark fruit still present. Previous owner must have stored it properly as the cork was well sealed and not dry.

  • After our Napa Cab retrospective from '80 to '02, we popped this wine which surprisingly did not rise to the level of the superb older Napa cabs. It was thinner, simpler, and seemed to be a bit of an empty shell compared to the Napas. It was not over the hill, but just lacked stuffing. Never had this before, so can't compare with a younger version.

  • AMAZINGLY DEEP, ALMOST BLACK IN COLOR. DEEP FRUIT, BLACKBERROES & LICORICE IN THE NOSE W/ BLACK CHERRY, CURRENTS, & LICORICE IN THE FLAVOR. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH. NEEDS 2-4 MORE YEARS.
