  • Pouring a deep ruby, it unfolds with an earthy nose featuring subtle notes of dried herbs and a touch of leather, intertwining earthiness with rich, dark fruit aromas of blackcurrant and plum. The palate follows suit, adding a refreshing layer of eucalyptus, complemented by hints of cedar and a nuanced touch of chocolate, all leading to a well-balanced structure and a smooth, lengthy finish.

  • This is Sebastiani's flagship wine and current Fall 2022 release. This 2019 vintage just shipped four days ago and was very tight upon opening. Bottle decanted over 24 hours. Nice yet subtle floral aromas. Color is deep dark burgundy, nearly inky black in the glass through to the edges. Tannins are soft, smooth and integrated and provide ample structure to the tangy acidity. Flavors of red and black fruit. Blackberry, cassis, cherry and a hint of cola as well as red meat/iron on the medium finish. The wine has depth and is weighty. Must be decanted at the present time. Overall, the wine shows some promise. I'm withholding rating and will update with additional comments in a future review.
