  • Wonderful wine. Medium to full bodied, nicely balanced. A pleasant thickness to the wine. Dark berries, plums ... along the darker segment for fruit. Some herbal qualities and black tea. Medium length to finish. Served with several friends and all remarked that they very much enjoyed this wine.

  • No nose at all. Like blindfolded you’d be hard pressed to tell there is any liquid other than water in the glass.

    Taste replays the nose. Nothing.

Day 2 gave the faintest bit of piney, minerally flavour, drank on its own.

Terrible experience all in all. I’d regift this to someone you don’t particularly like all that much, or if you must, drink it a day after you fully decant the wine, by itself or maybe with some light charcuterie.

  • I picked up (4) of these just over 3 years ago, after visiting with Roberto di Meo at his home and farm. I'm a really big fan of his whites, and really hadn't tried any reds, so when I saw these, I said 'why not'. I recall trying one within the first year, there was little of interest for me. And so, I gave a bottle away, and then tried the third bottle in year 2 - same thing, just not much there for me. It even happened again, last night, after a PnP that was, initially, the same result as in the past: med-/med body, little to no complexity or mouthfeel, etc.. However, it was as if someone flicked a switch, because at the 90 minute mark this wine was producing perfumes like crazy. Pine tree/scrub, soil, dried herbs, a dose of black licorice, folded with whiffs of saline, iron and campfire. This was a nearly pointless journey, though in the end, it 'finally' delivered. That said, it's still very modest in build, etc., so many will find little to appreciate. I'll stick to buying his whites in the future; great man, great farming. 13,5% abv., natural cork. Aerate 60-120 minutes; drink thru 2023.

  • Wow; tasted like $8 grocery store Chianti. No bold Aglianico tannins, just bland, insipid plonk.

Hope this is just a bad bottle cuz WTSO sold me 4
