I was shocked when I saw the rating on this wine (84)! So I have been tasting/drinking ES wines for over 12 years and have a fair amount in my cellar—go have a look, I make it public. From past experience I have had ES Chards up to 10 years old and I wasn’t in a big hurry to drink this. While this isn’t a the highest end Chard from ES, Sonoma Coast has always been a good one and much different from the more fruit forward Napa Chard. This more mineral forward Chard is just different. So………… my review:
I don’t think this wine is past peak at all. I have had it properly cellared at 55-57 deg since I acquired it. I looked for evidence of degradation on the rim and the nose—none noted. On the front of the palate it was still bright with good acidity and a beautiful light straw color and moderately oaked with a soft limestone/slate finish. I offered tastes to others and no one thought it was over the hill. Ready to be drunk, yes. But past it’s drinking window? No. I think this will be perfectly fine though this year and probably well into 2024. I rated 90 but I posted 92 as that was the group average
There are several still in people’s cellars. I would love another opinion please.

Definitely post-peak, at the end of its drinking window.
