Deep ruby, long legs, medium acid, medium+ tannins w/ definite Rutherford dust. Leather oak and wet leaves with an alcohol burn on the nose. Very nicely balanced,

I was surprised by how much I liked this wine. . .lots of Rutherford flavor, strong tannings with dark fruits and blackberries. Touch of cedar on the finish.

This one is finally coming around. After a one hour decant after being poured through a Vinturi, it seems to have some to life a bit. Not real inky dark, it has nice purple color. Definite legs so there's alcohol there but a longer decant should balance that. This is still a very mild wine; not big bold and fruit forward like some of its CH cousins from the 2016 vintage. However it has a distinct tasty dry finish with nice tannins that are quite enjoyable. I would not eat anything spicy or heavy with this wine. At least right now, it might be best enjoyed before a meal rather than during. I'm glad I have a few more in the cellar!
