  • There are still some attractive red berry flavours initially, otherwise I would have scored it a lot less, but the bitterness I noticed last year is now omnipresent. Frankly not a very good wine unless you like a really bitter finish. Luckily this is my last - if not I would give them away to some of my more objectionable in-laws.

  • 2013 editon of En Primeur - Kelly and Kevin’s excellent adventure; 3/26/2014-4/1/2014 (Mostly in Bordeaux and a night in Paris): This is fully mature. Not showing overripe character. Dark fruits, truffle, mushroom, dark spices and earth. Medium concentration, silky palate and good finish although there is a hint of bitterness.

  • Typically 03, which one either loves or loathes. I didn't exactly loathe it, but I didn't like it either. Thick, viscous, with a nice fresh berry flavour on top of the palate, but the main body is rather bitter. Hard work to drink and not much fun.

  • Doubled decanted. Profound colour, mature but dark at the same time. Predominant Merlot nose full of ripe plums with a touch of CF (white pepper). Some raw meat too. Very Fronsac. On the palate less exciting with an unbalanced acidity, tannins and alcohol. Nice but strange bitterness when finish but coming from sediments. I can not resist to mention...where is the bloody yet famous 2003 heat? Surely inside of some full pockets hottie critics. I have been drinking this wine (1998 and 2000 vintages) for years and this bottle is the worst indeed. By the way, 2003 was an extraordinary year, wasn´t it? So weird is all.

No puedo resistirme a comentar ...

  • Color: medium to dark red with orange/brown. Taste: medium tannic, acidity a little metallic, obvious alcohol, but still ok, chocolate, burnt wood. Actually to me it tastes like "Röteli", which is a swiss liqueur with spices and dried cherries.
Decanted for 4-5 hours, because directly after opening it was oily, without tannins and it had an unpleasing alcohol/acid taste. Right now it is quite interesting, only this metallic taste is a little unpleasing to me.
