not impressed with this wine. Petite Arvine is really interesting but this came across as somewhat flabby and lacking nerve. Fine for quaffing but nothing spectacular

A slight honeyed character and verging on off-dry. Honeydew melon, pineapple, slight minerals. Nice flavour concentration. Slight bitter finish. Not enough acidity to balance sweetness. Poor QPR.

Pale yellow coloured Petite Arvine (local grape from Valais). at 13 degrees, it goes perfectly well for predinner drinks as well as for dinner with fish. The wine is fresh and voluptuous, white flowers and spices on the nose and exotic fruits on the palate. Petite Arvine is one of the star white grapes of Valais and bottles can sometimes reach ridiculous prices, not the case for the Germanier production. At 24.- a bottle (roughly 24 usd, eur 20), the price is quite decent (take into consideration the labour costs in switzerland) for this quality of wine. The cellars of JR Germanier, managed by the great Gilles Besse, produce amazing wines, among which the superb Cayas (gorgeous Syrah) and have recently come under the focus of Parker.
