    AP 18 17. Wow. What few, minor gripes I had with the non-starred Eiswein from Erbes this year were not only corrected in this bottling, but turned into true selling points. The same sweetness and lush texture. The same brilliant acid backbone. But this time there seems to be a structure - a chiseled genius - at work to really bring the selling points of this vintage into focus. Rich flavors verging on grilled pineapple and peaches, with an emphasis on the smoky veil. Really quite similar to the Kranklei Auslese* from this year, but distilled to perfection.
