Sunripe both red and dark fruit with a little fruit sweetness. Hints of barnyard, sundried undergrowth and dusty earthy minerality. A warm terroir/vintage, but handles the 14% abv very well. Having said that, looking forward to popping other vintages with lower alcohol, to see the outcome of that. This was the overall wine of the night between 7 tasters and 6 wines. Nice wine with an excellent quality price ratio.

4th of July in NH with friends & wine; 7/4/2018-7/6/2018 (New London, NH): Last wine of the day and another misfire for me with the COS. This is just full of aggressive tannins right now and needs a lot more time to come together. This maybe a bit harsh as this came at the end of a long line up of whites and lighter styled reds, but it came across to me as brutish and lacking in any charm.

Nose was on lighter side. Didnt really get much other than Faint black fruits and smoke.
Palate was nice. Tasted pure fruits. First black and then cherry. Opened up with air. Terroir came through. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. By the last sip tasting dark chocolate.
They are not competing with Bordeaux but rather developing their own expression of the Cab/Merlot blend.
