For a screw-top import 10 years past its drink-by date, I have to give this one a resounding not-bad rating, especially for the lofty price of $0.00 that I paid.

Popped and poured w/the aid of a glass airator. Nose of classic barnyard or pasture, and I'm sorry to say, I dug it. If only the wine tasted richer and fuller, man, anything w/a flavor profile...especially based upon the attention gettin nose. Drank out of Oregon Riedel stems which helped open up this wine. From a great vintage, an almost promising everyday kind of burgundy...w/the potential for so much more.

Pinot Noir as a rule have something distictive; nose, color, fruit. This wine lacks any real character. Certainly drinkable, but California has many in the same price range that are better.

(Drouhin Joseph Bourgogne Laforet) Bright medium cherry-red with a trace of purple. The nose is like a bowl of fresh cherries, a little tart and high-toned with just a faint edge of garden mint. The palate shows plenty of freshness and an unexpected intensity in the mid-palate. The texture is good and tannin only shows as transient rasp on the tongue before a quite good finish. In any other vintage this would be a great bourgogne, in 2005 it is ‘merely’ well above average - and did I mention the value - it’s only around €10.

Not very substantial, even for a Pinot. Quite lackluster.

Nice light style wine. Very bright and easily drinkable. Very light tannins and a short finish but a nice pinot noir for the money. Enjoyed it!
