  • Really well made wine. Full bodied with deep purple color throughout. fruit forward with blue and black fruit dominant. creamy mid palate and long finish with nice acidity that cuts thru the heft of the wine. alcohol still present on the finish

  • ORC thanks to CC

It is all blueberry fruit with a slight amount of cedar wood. On the nose it is alluring and layered but that is its greatest achievement (right now) as it is non-dimensional beyond that. Now, with that critique said, it has slight nuances which I think simply need more years to emerge. Tannins shut down most of the real depth flavors right now.

  • Tampa Spring Break (the third); 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Various Tampa locations (Seasons 52, Capital Grille, Berns etc.)): Again a more fruit forward style. Darker in nature. Lots of blueberry. A touch of sandalwood. Very young wine that needs a lot of time, but appreciate the backbone and structure of it.

  • Opened the night before, gassed, re-corked, and tasted at 11AM the next day. Super compacted and almost totally inaccessible. A complete saliva-sucker. Leave this alone for a couple of years and hope the fruit develops and the grip dramatically loosens. Even more constricted than when I had it last month. 90+ points this time around. Hold until 2020?

  • Very primary and tight at the moment. Not astringent, but somewhat restrained in terms of allowing its core fruit potential to step forward. A little heat on the back end. Notes of primarily red fruit, with some deeper purple and black fruits showing up after some vigorous swirling. Vanilla alcohol and cassis added some interest, but this is going to take a year or so to show what it's truly made of. Almost night and day when compared to the awesomely giving and accessible 2014 version of this wine.

Will it surpass the 2014 one day? Perhaps. But the 2014 is currently showing WAY better than the 2015 at this juncture. Hold the 2015 for at least another year (maybe even a couple more just to be on the safe side). In the meantime, kick back with the 2014, which is drinking really well by comparison.

92-93 points for now on this 2015.
