  • Light golden color. Lovely honeyed melon fruit top note with Golden Delicious apple, mineral and honeysuckle as well. Full-bodied with an abundance of pear and melon fruit with a hint of mineral in the finish. With air this develops aromas of dried apricot and nutmeg which follow through on the palate. Wonderful rich texture. Drinking very well on the pop & pour and I cannot imagine this getting much better from here- at peak. 92-93 pts.

  • Lovely showing. Beeswax, apple blossom, green almond. Fine mineral core. Long finish with plenty left in the tank. Yum. Great with scallops, shrimp, tofu, and sugar snap pea dish at Wu’s Wonton King.

  • Blimey, this is really good. There again at the price point it should be - but that is not always so. Everything I would like in a Rhone white. Super-creamy and luscious mouthfeel is notable; the flavor profile and texture are great: I liked the orange/lemon oil and apple combination, combined with the earthy/mineral; good acidity.

  • Sometimes you need a wine with sap and texture. A plate of shrimp and grits is just such a time (maybe not as much if you have a bunch of fresh tomatoes making the base of the sauce). Absent juicy tomatoes, Monier Perréol St. Joseph Blanc seems to fit the (weeknight) bill. Orange oil, russet apple, just-verging-on-overripe peach skin, and toasted marcona almond on the nose. The palate is rich and supple, with plenty of gras, offering notes of peach compote, short crust, salt, and honey were-it-not-sweet, giving way to a grainy, granitic spice. This isn’t necessarily heavy or unwieldy, but concentrated and more suited to the table than as an apéritif. But it works admirably with shrimp and grits, and is more that agreeable with a bit of Comté. I’d advise to pair selectively, but I’m pleased to have bought a few bottles and will dole them out judiciously over the next 3-5 years.

  • Aromas of apple, lemon and florals, developing a subtle waxy note as it warmed in the glass. Abundant white fruit on the palate. Finishes with nice length.
