Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix at Ariana II (Ariana 2, Kilburn, London): Served a little warmer than ideal but a very interesting and more-ish wine. The nose has ginger snap character as well as some apricot richness. The palate feels fully mature with a lovely creamy richness, some Alphonse mango and the faintest suggestion of tarragon. Would look for this in other vintages based on this showing although suggest the 2015s should be enjoyed over the next year.

Ladoix and Aloxe (Ariana II): Quite a golden yellow, 'older' than the vintage suggests, and it is no surprise that this shows some confection on the nose. As a package it is rich, concentrated, round and spherical, glowing with yellow fruit - quite noble. I actually find it a bit honied and overtly ripe in terms of what I look for in white Burgundy, perhaps related to the solaire vintage, but it is a fine glass of wine nonetheless. I'd have preferred it slightly colder and with a dish that could stand up to it, as it was it was served as a segway between courses.

A l'aveugle A l'ouverture, il laisse une sensation de Chardo maquillé et sans terroir. Aéré, il en manque toujours autant et se montre mou à souhait, flatteur, raccoleur (boisé maladroit), sans profondeur ni relief. Décevant.

For such a young wine this showed a lot of maturity. Drank against a Villamont Clos St Jean and this was the stand out for me. Citrus fruit and cream and butter, more viscosity on the body. Meium to long finish. Delicious.
