Buondonno Riserva vertical tasting plus other Sangiovese (Wine Taste Gdansk): This was my least favorite bottle of the night. The color was the youngest for me, but then at the nose it was dominated by barrel notes like chocolate and coffee with some meaty note, and almost no fruits. On the palate it was tannic but of the smooth type and less acidity with again some sweet notes. The finish is long but the balance is not there even if it seemed the most ready vintage. I'm guessing they got new barrels that year and it would explain the profile.

A joy to drink. Intense, and firing from all Sangiovese cylinders. Aromas of ripe strawberries, ripe cherries. Very close to tumbling into the jam fraction, but doesn't. Still at the upper end of the scale with 15.5%. I think I like this style, but more so when age smoothes our the intensity or in a cooler vintage. (Triple A producer)
