This wine is made from 100% Carignan (known locally as Samso), gobelet trained, the old vines are between 85-105 years old. The must macerated for 24 days and and barrel aged for 24 months.
The wine opens with tertiary notes of tobacco leaf and leather, you then get red fruits (red cherry, red plum, red currant) with black pepper and all spice. This wine is medium-bodied, but with nice depth and complexity, still retaining the beautiful acidity typical of this varietal.
A beautiful wine, the flavors linger on the palate nicely, definitely recommended to try!

Appearance was deep ruby in color with syrupy viscosity. Nose included red and black fruits, heavy with notes of black cherry. Additional notes of cut grass, fenugreek, tobacco, and agave. Taste profile was medium/full bodied dry wine with high tannins and medium acidity. Tasting notes of dark chocolate, cherry, blueberry, dirt, and cardboard. Excellent wine that probably needs more cellaring and/or more decanting to appreciate it's true potential.
