Pale, bright, golden-hued straw. Passion fruit, honey, and pear jump out on the nose, joined by hazelnut and cut grass. Not overly mineral on the palate, with violet perfumed with pineapple. A lively, clean experience when served very chilled.

This wine opens up with aromas of citrus, peach and melon. On the palate there was tropical notes and minerality with a burst of acidity. For a Pinot Gris, I thought this wine had too much acidity.

Ripe pear, pepper and steel on nose. Palate is medium bodied with a soft texture, pleasant apple/fruit flavors, and then a crisp acidity on the finish. Hints of smoke and mushroom linger. Not ultra complex but a pleasant quaff and went well with Korean food. Drinking well now, probably has a solid year left.

I really like this one. Citrusy yet smooth. Not sweet but not bitter.

$11 Willamette Valley (Ore.) Pinot Gris '16 Joel Gott. Light-mid straw gold; floral, pear nose; mid-body; softening acids; long round fruity finish. w/appetizers, munchies, party sipping.
