  • Amazing. I didn't get much on the nose even with swirling but the flavor... Fruit-forward cherries and raspberries with a hint of gravel underneath. No alcohol burn, tannins present but only if you asked to see them. Such perfect balance. PnP at cellar temp and paired with sous vide ribeye. My wife was equally impressed (with the wine, not me.)

  • I've had several 2016 CdP and am very impressed with the vintage. This is the first Reserve I've seen. 100% Grenache. A monster of a wine. Bold, complex, with great depth and intensity of flavors. Very long finish. Very dark color. Fruits were rich and voluptuous. Cherry, blackberry, blueberry, earthy notes, smoke. Great paired with roasted goat!

  • Picked this wine to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Why? 1) My wife adores Grenache from Gigondas and CdP. 2) This CdP is a double 100-pointer. 3) We finished watching Drops of God last night. 4) Most importantly, the "2 freres" of this wine relates to our identical twin boys, born in Luxembourg, whose last family vacation in Europe before moving back to the US was to the southern Rhone back in 2009. As for the wine... Heavily extracted wild berries, plum, some chocolate. The high alcohol is not excessively hot, or else I'd have rejected it. There's balance and excitement if you love big fruit. I don't, but there's a place for this wine. I'd suggest an ideal pairing of smoked Texas brisket. We paired with bacon-wrapped filet mignon, but that wasn't heavy enough for this much fruit. Smoked brisket would have been, or perhaps spiced lamb.

  • Huge nose of vanilla, loads of ripe black fruit, bacon, cigar box... Huge amount of ripe and crisp tannin, huge concentration of black and red cherries, lenght of 60 sec!!
