  • Dark, sweet kirsch. Lovely bouquet. Slight grip on the finish. Decanted three hours. Lots of life left.

  • Southern Rhone goodness here, one of my favorites and fantastic qpr at $60. I like my CdP Grenache dominant and this one is 90% +. Elegant, structured, delicious red berries, leather blackberry violet. A wine that holds your attention.

  • There is such broad range of styles of CNDP which makes it fabulous education to taste . Whilst not a dense muscular rendition there is still plenty structure more mid weight with sweet crunchy Grenache fruit . It is currently drinking well but definitely needs decanted for a minimum of 3 hours if only for the heat of the alcohol to be subdued after this period I found the wine much more enjoyable to taste and the wine expresses its quality . Will improve but in a good place right now.

  • The 2016 vintage was excellent for Rhone. I've had a couple different CdP from 2016 and they are drinking exceptionally with many years ahead of them. This producer is probably my favorite for CdP and this Cuvee Imperiale is their flagship. This is 90%+ Grenache. Blackberry, red fruit, wild underbrush, violet, crushed rocks. Absolutely delicious.

  • Quick decant. Nose of black cherry, violets, and a touch of green banana. Blackberry, blueberry, and black cherry fruit bursts across the palate, followed by a buildup of black pepper, then lots of sage, bay leaf, and thyme. Firm tannins provide a fairly tight finish, adding wet clay, red currant, forest floor, and more dried herbs. Likely to develop further.
