Tasting 2006 Pungent burnt plastic! which mellows quickly leaving a special zin-like flavor profile with a twist. If all carignan tasted like this it would be a primary grape instead of s blending grape. Definitely one to try. Locals must gobble this up!
How the Hell do I change the vintage of this to 2006? I didn't drink the 2005, but CT/GS doesn't have the 2006 available yet, so now this tasting note is wrong.

Huge flavors. Intense, spicy, dark and fun. Drinks ok now, could stand some time. Liked this a lot. Like zin and primitivo with a component like Sicilian reds brought to the new world.

I purchased this from the winery after tasting a dozen of their wines. If I remember correctly, some of the vines used for this are over 100 years old! This is intensely dark in color and body, with an amazing hint of maple syrup on the finish. I want more.

Drinking Cheap Wine with the Relatives; 2/26/2010-2/27/2010 (Byron, IL): Huge, intense, rich. Bursting with berry and caramel and spice. Nice bottle!
