From memory. Decanted. Floral, crushed blackberries, some minerals and some earth. Somehow, doesn't have the concentration of past vintages. Almost as if the wine is a somewhat mute. Wonder if this is shutting down now.

Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard dinner (Culture Center in NYC): Interesting. Not sure if I've ever had this grape before, but I appreciate it. Much softer in style than the Tempranillo. There's a backbone here with the tannins which are a touch on the dry side at the moment. A hint of the peppery and a hint of the fruit. Feels like a wine that is meant to go longer, but certain drinkable now.

Reminds me of Spanish wines from Rioja or other tempranillos. Blackberry notes.
