Me love this wine, Mr John Holdredge. We served this with dinner and the wine needed some time to air, as it didn't see a decant or slow ox. So with that time, this bottle really blossomed into something terrific. Listed alc was 14.3%, didn't notice any intrusion of it. What's here instead is a wine of beautiful balance, with some red fruit but really mainly blue, lots of blueberry that drank really pure. The added bonus was a loamy note that came into the finish of the last glass. Seems like the wine is in a sweet spot and with the balance, even 9 vintages removed now, just drinking great. Terrific.

Steak "bleu" in a bottle - no smoke, no bacon, just blood and nicely balanced fruit. On the elegant side for a Syrah, a real surprise and treat. John continues to impress with his wines...

14.3% alcohol. Decanted. This is drinking beautifully. Sumptuous nose of black and blue fruit, meat, and spice. In the mouth, awesome purity and balance, with loads of fruit and good structure. No hard edges at all. Very caressing. Drinking well but will develop further complexity. A very strong effort. A-

Looks great on my rug, since half of it landed there! The other half was a fine wine with firm tannin. This bottle was more oaky than the last but a fine effort.

Floral, dark-fruited, briny. Tannins are well-integrated. Excellent.
