  • I am a big admirer of the idiosyncratic white wines of Deiss mostly consisting of assemblages from complantations rather than monocepage-wines. This is my first taste of his red wines and even the first red alsace wine I ever drank. As I am only a lukewarm fan of Pinot Noir-based wines others may like this much more than I did. Rather nice colour for a Pinot-based wine, not much fruit on the nose, good weight on the palate but a lack of charm, austere with dusty tannines. Quite impressive but not my cup of tea.
