I haven't had too many 2003 Pomerols but my experience with them has been uniformly opposed to vintage generalizations. This 2003 Plince is no exception. Color may be a tad lighter than normal. A pleasant, mild bouquet of mint and saddle which repeats on the palate, which is delicate and sweet. There is decent weight and blissful silkiness, and fine, persistent tannin in the finish. A nice, mature Pomerol. Certainly not marred by the heat and hydric stress of the vintage. This is going down swell with roast chicken.

perfect condition, PNP lovely sexy feminine merlot, for $25 it's a steal at todays market prices. I don't agree with the other folks giving this wine such low scores, wine is great and easy to enjoy.

Brown edges, but still tasty. Cleary on it's last legs. Very cherry as is typical. Better after left open for half an hour. Last bottle out of a case purchased in 2006.

Decanted for about an hour. Classic deep Bordeaux color with a slight brown aged wine tint. Did quick taste when opened and had bright cherry, some earthiness, slight butterscotch with very low tannins. Overall a very smooth wine. Second taste after about a half hour of decanting was changed. The fruit was now darker with currant and berries, butterscotch gone. After decanting the wine had a dark fruit with plum and currant dominating the nose. The taste was a classic Bordeaux-earthiness, swirling tastes of plum, currant and a slight taste of fig. Overall a very nice wine that still will hold for years.

Nice earthy aroma. Feels like it is mostly merlot. Good flavor with a little rust. A good old world style bordeaux.
