Beautifully mature Bdx colour. My blind guess was Pauillac :-) Nose screams of Bdx, with cedar, Bdx earth and black currants. In the mouth is a lovely lovely wine. Panfried shrimp supporting the cassis, earth and mud in a fabulous way. This is up my alley!

Cellartracker in the flesh with Stefan, Akiko, Mats & Tomas (Paul Boucasse, Tokyo): "Served blind. A little blood/iron, slight metallic notes, a little fishy and meaty, fresh plums, a little farmyard, leather, agitation makes the spicy notes pop a little and reveals wet stone and a little Ribena. Juicy tending to medium plus intensity acidity, dark hued fruits are savoury, a little herbaceous underpin, tannins are raw silk textured, a little dilute and gamey and a touch short. Hmm I knew this was one of mine"

First Wednesday Wine Club (Napoli in Bocca, Haberfield): "Served Blind. Wet stone and a little cellar stink initially, red over black fruits, iron/blood, a little crushed rock, fruit sweetens with time in the glass. Juicy, fleshy, savoury fruits, crushed rocks, smoky notes, textured burr, slight alcohol warmth. Nice. I knew this was mine."
