Great yet again -- so glad I have one more left. Outclassed a very good 2015 Outpost NV as the fruit shined better and the finish was long and polished. See my 2020 notes for more detail. Lots of life left for this beauty.

Beautiful dark purple ruby color with a soft aromatic nose of violets. On the palate, dark berry fruits and some vanilla. There are blackberries, black currants and black plum. This Cab shows nice balanced, it’s well integrated, actually showing better than I may have anticipated for a big, fruit forward Stags Leap Cab that is that is 7 years old. I generally go through this style of Cab within the first 3-5 years, I have not experienced much success with big, bold, fruit forward Cali Cabs. They tend to go south, tending to show more acidic after 7 or so years. This 2016 was in a very good spot and quite enjoyable. Drink now. 95/96 Points

Had this as a pop and pour. Started with a powerful nose of red fruit, with an almost ripe slightly sweet red and black fruit on the palate, but then settled down to a slightly more boring but still very enjoyable smooth and more muted phase before it was gone.

Nice wine, squarely in its drinking window, although I would say it shows more traits of Mike’s winemaking style than Stags Leap District character.
