  • Burnt ends in singapore with Alex and Ken. Deep ruby color. Beautiful nose with lots of cherries, raspberries, strawberries, mushroom, earthiness, black pepper, still smelling young despite being from 2004. Med acidity, full body, high alcohol, Med flavor intensity, med tannins, med+ finish. Creamy mouth, vanilla, chocolate, saltiness, still fruity and sweet, a warm and filling wine. Still tastes young. A bit too sweet to my taste but Wow.

  • Great nose, clean and aromatic. Was looking for alcohol or dried raisins on the nose but none exist. Big, ripe, imposing, and spicy on the palate, screaming OZ wine all the way. Thick and long, chocolate like finish but not overly sweet. Finished warm at backend with ABV of 14.5%. There was a time maybe 20 years ago, I would have absolutely loved this but after adapting to more dedicated Northern Rhone wines, my palate has been reconditioned. Not my prefer style but it’s still a decent wine if you like the style.

  • Black, intense, rich, impressive...

Aromas: Australian earth, ultra-rich Syrah, blood, iron, herbs towards licorice-anise-fennel and beautiful, subdued vegetal perfumes.

Mouth: ah my God Odin and Thor! This is such a beautiful and rich experience. Neverending richness and intensity that is matched by the perfect acidity and just doing its thing.

    Still but a padawan.
Married all dishes, including pickles, salad, grilled fish, asparagus with egg, seafood and worked well as a Sprechenwein.

    Amazing wine!

  • Bought on release, cork in excellent shape // Big, ripe Shiraz with perhaps a little more in the way of aromatics due to the Viognier. Well made but first glass was the best, as honestly was a bit bored with the wine as not particularly complex, which I was hoping for after 17 years!

  • Two hour decant, this comes across as advertised with a big palate that is in sync with all its components. Fruit driven with interesting complexity expressed in spices and tar. Powerful in all the right ways, with a very long finish, excellent bottle, if not an extremely affordable one. Drank next to a Torbreck, this was slightly better.
