A solid, mature Pinot Noir showing reasonable complexity, solid structure, and plenty of maturing red fruits. At ten years, this is still going strong and showing no signs of short term demise. Enjoyed with baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, and a garden salad. Drink now or over the next couple of years; unlikely to improve with further cellaring.

Made in a bigger, fuller style, medium ruby, medium plus body. Late development, close to maturity as tertiary and secondary characteristics are leading: funky, barnyard, sludgy earthy aromatics; charred, earth; cherry cola; smoky black raspberry, grilled strawberry; and barbecue spices. Acids and mild tannins still in the mix; comes across as slightly rustic. Medium long finish. I like this, but also recognize this might not be within everyone’s bailiwick for enjoyment. Drink now as this is close to peak, and unlikely to improve with further cellaring.

Drank over two consecutive days. Still hanging in there at nine years, showing no signs of decline.
