Pierre Duroche is one of the most sought after Gevrey domaine. These VV vines were planted in 1923. Making them almost 100 years old! On the nose is classic Gevrey aromas. These wines are intense, powerful, concentrated, structured and complex. Violets, earth, red fruit and little spice. In the vertical I rated the vinages from top to lower. The lowest vintage I rated does not in any means say they are bad. All of these were amazing and I wish I had much more of them. 1. 2016 2. 2015 3. 2019 4. 2017 5. 2018 6. 2014

Popped and poured and enjoyed over a Friendsgiving turkey dinner. The wine maker shows a light touch as the old vine concentration and Gevrey character shows through more than anything. It's very elegant and light on palate yet brimming with fruit and terroir at the same time. This wine has a long life ahead of it and should only get better.
