I guess 2 years since I had my last bottle made a big difference in profile. Light garnet color with bricking toward the rim. Lots of sediment in the bottle. Nose was black tea, dried cherries, savory herbs and a bit of black licorice. Tart, sour cherry profile with an herbal component as well on the palate. Medium acid and tannin with the fruit being much more in the background than my previous bottle. Nose was definitely more interesting than the palate. Pleasant if somewhat short finish. Fruit is fading and for my palate, this lost a little something. Still enjoyable but I would driink up if I had anymore in the cellar.

Dark crimson color. Huge expressive dark fruits on the nose, mainly plums, black cherries and some sweet spices. Similar flavors on the palate with extracted, jammy dark fruit coming through loud and clear. Medium acidity, smooth mouthfeel, long finish. A really nice barolo in the more modern style.

Rich, jammy plum-flavored. Tannins soft, but present; the interesting thing is that the fruit is so full that it dominates the tannins. This style is not my favorite, as I prefer the red-cherry, but there is no question that this is a full-fruited wine, and I'm sure that others will really like it. I would have this on hand for impressing friends.
