  Past peak and even before not recommendable for the price. While the Syrahs from Montecarrubo are excellent, I rather pass on this one.

  Sowohl optisch als auch in der Nase schon recht weit gereift mit Noten von Blaubeeren, Pflaumen, Zimt, stark eingekochten Tomaten-Sugo, gegrillten Barbecue samt zugehörigen Gewürzen, schwarzen getrockneten Oliven. Daneben gibt es durchaus eine gewisse frische Komponente mit etwas Minze und frisch-phenolische Noten von Stielen von Tomaten.
  
  Am Gaumen ist das vor allem recht üppig. Bin hier am ehesten an Pflaumenmus erinnert (insbesondere die Zimt-Note ist deutlich ausgeprägt), aber auch die fleischig-rauchigen Eindrücke finde ich klar wieder. Der Wein hat Syrah-typisch ordentlich viel Gerbstoff, allerdings vergleichsweise fein und sehr gut strukturierend. Sehr verhalten in seiner Säurestruktur und mit extrem hohem Extrakt; in der Tat so hoch, dass ich mich gefragt habe ob der Wein wirklich trocken ist (tatsächlich weist zumindest ein Blatt auch ein paar Gramm Zucker aus). Damit sich das nicht falsch liest: Wir sind natürlich Welten weg von jeglicher Primitivo-Trinkmarmelade.
  
  Ähnlich wie die Cuvée Speciale ist auch dies hier für mich eine deutlich eigenständige Interpretation.
  
  Als Begleiter am Grill und zum Flanksteak taugte das sehr.

  Shining so beautifully now. Clean, pure, fresh, balanced and yet so full of taste and concentration and with very long, lovely aftertaste. Simply a great wine.
