Just a wonderful nose of ripe and dark fruit with well-integrated oak. More ripe fruit on the palate with oak notes. The density of the nose belies the finesse and smoothness of the body and mouthfeel. An excellent wine lacking only a 7th gear and a large amount of complexity.

Medium red. As in all three Spanish wines the nose shows the spicey aroma of American oak. Slight sweetness and lots of dark fruit in this Burgundy weight Rioja. The sweetness of the vintage is there but the finish is long and dry. Very good.

Bill's Monthly Lunch - March 2010 (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind - American oak on the nose. Sweeter profiles on both the nose and palate. Dark fruits. Silky smooth in the mouth. Medium body. Drinking well now. Very good.

Popped and poured with rack of lamb. Vanilla and blood orange on the nose with the palate dominated by the blood orange with some spice and red fruit notes. Well integrated but a little tart. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Overall a very good effort with that tartness preventing me from giving it a better score.
