This was one of the wines at a K&L Rioja tasting in Redwood City. Great QPR for a Gran Reserva. Nose shows dark fruit with mellow oak; body and taste is full and smooth but with nice acid throught for a 2015. Has further aging potential.

Rioja young wines: dark, purplish cherry red in the glass. the nose is a lovely melange of black fruit (cherries, plums, and figs) with accents of leather, cedar and tobacco and whiffs of fresh herbs. medium- to full-bodied in the mouth, it is remarkably open already. very smooth, dusty tannins provide a structure for the fruit and accents from the nose to parade across the palate. lovely long finish with that balsamic overtone.
well-balanced and very elegant, this should continue drinking well for at least a handful of years.
14.5% AbV; mostly Tempranillo (>90%) with some Graciano; aged in French (!!!) oak.
